Cicadas hum
their Aum
up first growth trees
into waspy sun-
dog Dharma
the way
canvas dragons
pioneers hogbacks
down into swamps
where muck sucks
rubbers from
feet
stumbling settlers
catch in quicksand
sink slowly
lose air
as pressure crushes them
to death then death
uncoilds her serpent wings and flies
in curves across the sourceless sky.
II.
Live companions
Dancing around the fire
sing first amen to war
if there were more
Young fawns
fat on apples.
felt necks stretching
to low limbs
ripe afternoons
before winter
rots orchards
III.
Rythm from father
is father's fall
carcass bleeding
from feet stomach head
til last drop purifies
dead. All
abberrations catalogued
as body raises sounds
of dog flied solving flesh
into feces-feces to food
the way
God dances
celebrates this Aum
within his univerally dead
and gently swaying corpse
to winter sun on snow
remains
of his fall coat
